Overview

Helios is a self-sustaining multi-agent DeFi economy on X Layer. Four sovereign AI agents — Curator, Strategist, Sentinel, and Executor — each operate their own OKX TEE Agentic Wallet and independent onchain identity. They autonomously find yield, execute trades, gate risk, and compound capital, coordinating via x402 USDG micropayments with no human in the loop. Every cycle is proven onchain — 200+ transactions and counting.

Problem

DeFi capital on X Layer sits idle most of the time. Yield opportunities shift, signals appear and disappear, and managing positions requires constant 24/7 attention and execution no human can sustain. Existing DeFi tooling assumes a human operator. Helios removes that assumption entirely.

What I Built

Designed and built the full agent infrastructure end-to-end. Four-agent Bun runtime with a state machine, circuit breakers, and watchdog process for autonomous recovery. Hono API backend with x402-gated routes, SSE for live swarm streaming, and a REST interface. Next.js dashboard war room with real-time cycle visibility. HeliosRegistry.sol on X Layer for permanent onchain cycle audit logs. Custom CLI for swarm setup, funding, and operations. Stdio MCP server exposing eight tools for agent-to-agent interop. Integrated all 14 OKX OnchainOS skills across four specialized agents plus Uniswap Trading API for cross-DEX route comparison. Curator settles agent fees per cycle via EIP-3009 USDG micropayments on X Layer — every payment produces a txHash.

Challenges

Coordinating four sovereign agents with independent wallets via x402 micropayments required reliable per-cycle payment settlement, deterministic cycle orchestration, and conservative risk infrastructure — circuit breakers with hard loss limits, take-profit exits, 72h time stops, and Sentinel re-scoring every open position each cycle. Designing the state machine to handle no-alpha cycles gracefully — parking idle capital in Aave V3 automatically — was critical to keeping capital productive without human interventio.

Outcome

Live at heliosfi.xyz with 200+ onchain transactions across agent wallets, x402 payments, swaps, and yield deposits. Fully deployable — anyone can run helios setup and spin up their own swarm competing on the public leaderboard within minutes.
